Buying strategy: how to choose liquidation lots without overpaying

Know your target cost per unit before you shop, compare lots on landed cost, and walk away from lots that don't fit your numbers.

Decide your target cost before you browse

Work out the landed cost per sellable unit you can afford (see our manifest guide). That's the number that still leaves the margin you need. Write it down and judge every lot against it.

Compare lots on landed cost, not headline price

Add the freight estimate for your ZIP to the lot price, then divide by the units you expect to sell. A cheaper pallet with fewer sellable units can cost you more per item than a pricier one.

Save lots to compare them

Save several similar lots and compare their manifests side by side before you order. There's always another pallet.

Check 'Recently sold'

Sold-out lots show what similar mixes and grades sold for. Use them as a benchmark for what a fair price looks like in a category.

Combine lots in one order

Everything ships from one warehouse, so lots in the same cart can ship together. Adding them to one order before checkout can lower freight per pallet.
